Mt. Joy Covenant Brethren Church

Pastor Lee Smith came to serve as our shepherd in July 2011 following a year as interim pastor at Wakeman's Grove Church of the Brethren in Edinburg, VA while still pretty fresh out of seminary. He was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion from Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA and a Master of Divinity from Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD. Currently, Pastor Lee serves on the Region 3 of the Covenant Brethren Church's Executive Board and compiled and contributed to the denomination's Minister's Manual. He is committed to the verse by verse expository preaching of the Bible and helping others come to a greater understanding of who our wonderful God is and what He has done in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through a better understanding of His Word. When you can't find him in his office studying, he will either be walking at Mammoth Park, playing with his kids, or reading a book. He is married to his lovely Laura and they are blessed with two fun boys, John and Jeremiah.

Pastor Lee usually is in the office from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM on Tuesday through Friday each week, though that may vary due to emergencies, hospital, and home visits or other ministry work. It is best to call the office first before coming out to make sure that he is there or schedule an appointment.

Our secretary, Cindy Fisher, is typically in the office on Thursdays. She is the one who puts the bulletins together weekly as well as our newsletter monthly. She is also who you need to talk to if you would like to reserve the pavilion or fellowship hall for a party or family gathering. It is best to call her cell phone rather than the church office to contact her for something. She is married to Rick with four kids and six wonderful grandchildren.

J’nice Wiltrout serves as our treasurer and does a great job of keeping us on budget while making sure that our bills are paid. She is happy to answer any financial question you may have or find the answer for it. She is married to Dave and they have two adult children with two precious granddaughters who are a treasure to her. 

Linda Wolfe is our custodian and works to keep our building clean each week. She has quite a task and we are thankful for her labors.
